Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The movie Piano has won several awards for her including an Oscar. At a young age her acclaimed actress started playing on stage for several Broadway or Off Broadway productions. As a child, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth grade production. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost hearing in her left ear. She did not let it stop her from performing. When she was a teenager, she took classes in drama at college before moving from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh to achieve her goals. Hunter made her Broadway debut after an accidental meeting in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress who played the leading character Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since she was a part of the film, Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous series and television films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
